Placements24 is seeking a Mine Geologist to join our client’s team in Mahikeng, North West. You will define mineral resources through mapping, sampling and analysis to support mine development and resource recovery.

Strong mapping and modelling skills are essential, with experience in underground and open-pit environments. The role requires a Bachelor's in Geology, 5+ years in mining geology, and proficiency with Leapfrog or Vulcan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Economic Geology is required.
• 5+ years of experience as a Mine Geologist in a producing mine environment.
• Proficiency in geological mapping techniques and sampling procedures.
• Experience with Leapfrog or Vulcan and other geological modelling software.
• Strong understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy, and mineral deposits.
• Drill core logging and data interpretation experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geological mapping of underground and open-pit workings.
• Collect and log surface and underground samples for assay and analysis.
• Interpret geological data including structural measurements and mineralization.
• Develop and maintain geological models using specialized software.
• Provide geological support for mine planning, drilling, and production.
• Identify ore zones and delineate potential economic targets.
• Contribute to resource estimation and reporting processes.
• Monitor geological conditions and report changes or hazards.
• Collaborate with engineering and metallurgy departments.
