Job summary

Ara Institute of Canterbury's Greymouth campus on the West Coast invites an Academic Staff Member – Midwifery to join our satellite team. This permanent role requires a minimum 150 hours per year, with around 15 hours weekly during term time, and offers ongoing teaching and student support in a blended delivery model.

You will draw on your registered midwife experience to supervise, assess, and mentor Bachelor of Midwifery students, deliver engaging sessions, and create meaningful practice

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with NZ Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Membership of NZ College of Midwives.
• Extensive midwifery clinical background.
• Minimum of five years post-registration clinical experience.
• Experience in continuity of care as LMC or core midwife.
• Digital literacy including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to teach and provide pastoral care.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hui ākonga, guide student learning, and provide supervision, assessment, and pastoral care for students in the midwifery programme.
• Deliver engaging teaching sessions.
• Create meaningful practice opportunities for students to develop their skills.
• Build strong connections with practitioners in clinical practice areas to enhance student learning.
