Job summary

Woolworths Group in New Zealand is seeking a merchandising lead to oversee Freshness and the Merchandise team, ensuring in-store excellence and high standards of quality and placement. You will drive campaign alignment, planogram accuracy, and empower the team to act as ambassadors for our Own Brand products.

You will lead operations, address issues, and schedule shifts, including weekends and evenings. Join a values-driven culture that supports growth and collaboration across a vast retail

Qualifications

• Problem-solving and critical thinking to tackle complex issues.
• Ability to build collaborative partnerships across teams and stakeholders.
• Experience in leading teams and delegating tasks effectively.
• Strong communication to articulate tasks, timelines and standards.
• Data-driven decision making and accountability in work delivery.
• Ability to work four weekend shifts including at least one Saturday and one Sunday per month, plus one evening weekly.

• Champion Freshness & Quality through regular audits and high standards.
• Drive Visual Merchandising Excellence with planogram accuracy and campaign alignment.
• Promote Brand & Team Advocacy for Own Brand products.
• Optimize Operations and resolve issues; conduct health checks for improvements.
• Provide Leadership and foster collaboration; step in as Acting Store Manager when needed.

• Champion Freshness & Quality: Conduct regular walks and audits to ensure high standards of quality and freshness, particularly for fresh food production.
• Drive Visual Merchandising Excellence: Oversee planogram accuracy, store cleanliness, stock loss, markdowns, and ensure consistent campaign alignment across all displays.
• Promote Brand & Team Advocacy: Champion 'Own Brand' products and empower the team to act as effective food ambassadors.
• Optimize Operations & Resolve Issues: Address process-related issues, conduct health checks to identify improvements, and ensure efficient functional performance.
• Provide Leadership & Foster Collaboration: Step in as Acting Store Manager on scheduled shifts and actively participate in team collaboration initiatives.
