Job summary

Nelson Marlborough Health in Nelson, New Zealand, is seeking a motivated Occupational Therapist to support tangata whai ora on their recovery journey through assessments, interventions and practical support. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team to provide person-centred care that promotes independence and quality of life.

This permanent role offers up to 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE), with flexible FTE (minimum 0.8) and hours Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand and an Annual Practising Certificate.
• Experience in mental health, rehabilitation, community health, or related area.
• Recovery-focused approach and genuine passion for supporting tangata whai ora.
• Strong communication, assessment and clinical reasoning skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessments, interventions, rehabilitation and practical support to help people achieve goals and participate in daily life.
• Collaborate with a range of health professionals in a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred, strengths-based care.
• Contribute to recovery-focused care and support wellbeing, independence and quality of life.
• Work within a team in the Nelson Marlborough region to deliver high-quality mental health services.
