Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Gisborne is seeking a Clinical Specialist Registered Nurse for the Community Mental Health and Addiction Services. This full-time fixed-term (6 months) parental leave cover role involves assessment, treatment, and guidance to whaiora, whanau and hospital teams.

You will work within Te Ara Maioha at Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti, collaborating in a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, culturally safe care and support substance use and mental health needs

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a current APC.
• Experience in Addiction, Mental health, or related clinical settings.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders, withdrawal management, and harm-reduction principles.
• Strong communication, de-escalation and therapeutic engagement skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
