About the role | Mō te tūranga:

We are currently seeking a Medical Secretary for our Anatomical Pathology Department. This is a Permanent Full-time role of hours per fortnight.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Transcribing medical reports from audio dictation and written documentation, proofreading and editing.
  • Maintaining accuracy, speed and attention to detail to ensure quality standards are always upheld.
  • Handling phone inquiries, preparing letters and emails, and booking appointments.
  • Administrative duties such as maintaining and updating documents, records, and handling urgent medical courier requests.
  • Preparing and sending histological materials for external testing, ensuring accurate documentation for national and international shipments.
  • Other office tasks as required such as filing and retrieval of histological materials.


About you | He kōrero mōu

To be successful in this role you need to have:

  • Previous medical typing experience.
  • Fast (minimum 60 wpm), accurate typing (accuracy favoured over speed).
  • A strong command of medical terminology.
  • Previous experience using medical databases
  • Exceptional MS Office experience.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Excellent communication skills and the flexibility to take on a variety of duties as required.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand
