We are currently seeking a Medical Secretary for our Anatomical Pathology Department. This is a Permanent Full-time role of hours per fortnight.
Responsibilities will include:
- Transcribing medical reports from audio dictation and written documentation, proofreading and editing.
- Maintaining accuracy, speed and attention to detail to ensure quality standards are always upheld.
- Handling phone inquiries, preparing letters and emails, and booking appointments.
- Administrative duties such as maintaining and updating documents, records, and handling urgent medical courier requests.
- Preparing and sending histological materials for external testing, ensuring accurate documentation for national and international shipments.
- Other office tasks as required such as filing and retrieval of histological materials.
About you | He kōrero mōu
To be successful in this role you need to have:
- Previous medical typing experience.
- Fast (minimum 60 wpm), accurate typing (accuracy favoured over speed).
- A strong command of medical terminology.
- Previous experience using medical databases
- Exceptional MS Office experience.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Excellent communication skills and the flexibility to take on a variety of duties as required.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand
