About the role | Mō te tūranga:
We are currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for our General Laboratory. This is a casual position, and hours will vary each week.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately receipt, process, and store samples in compliance with established protocols.
  • Effectively prioritise and organise tasks in line with standard laboratory procedures.
  • Set up and operate laboratory equipment in accordance with approved methods and protocols.
  • Demonstrate proficient use of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for sample tracking and data entry.

To be successful in this role you need to have:

  • The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.
  • Customer focus and commitment to providing a high quality of service to internal and external customers with effective interpersonal skills.
  • A sound knowledge of medical terminology, and laboratory operations including safety, and hands-on practical experience is preferred.
  • Registration with the Medical Science Council and an Annual Practicing Certificate as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
  • Must be a team player with initiative, good interpersonal and communication skills and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
