We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Immunochemistry team at LabPLUS, Auckland City Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of New Zealand's leading specialist immunology and immunochemistry laboratories. The role offers exposure to a diverse range of specialist testing and provides opportunities for professional growth.
The laboratory provides a broad range of specialist immunology and immunochemistry testing, including allergy diagnostics (skin prick testing, intradermal testing, allergen-specific IgE, total IgE, tryptase, Avian and Aspergillus IgG), ELISA, serum protein electrophoresis and immunofixation, serum free light chain analysis, IgG subclasses testing, CSF oligoclonal bands by isoelectric focusing (IEF), 2-transferrin analysis, lipoprotein electrophoresis, CK isoenzyme electrophoresis, alpha-1 antitrypsin phenotyping, alkaline phosphatase isoenzyme phenotyping, and other specialised referral assays.
The successful candidate will perform specialist immunochemistry testing, contribute to quality and service improvement activities, support assay verification work, participate in staff training, and help ensure the delivery of a high-quality diagnostic service. For candidates with the appropriate skills, experience, and leadership potential, there will be opportunities to take on increasing technical responsibility and develop towards a Technical Specialist role. This position works alongside a team of Medical Laboratory Scientists, with support from the Section Leader, Chemical Pathologists, and Immunopathologists.

You must hold registration as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and possess a current Annual Practising Certificate.
