Mechanical Fitter

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and takes pride in quality workmanship.

About the role:
You’ll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of mechanical systems and equipment across a busy industrial site. The successful candidate will bring a proactive approach to both preventative and reactive maintenance and be confident working independently as well as part of a team.

Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct mechanical maintenance and repairs on a range of plant equipment
  • Fault finding and diagnostic work to minimise downtime
  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high safety and quality standard
  • Assist with project and shutdown work as required
What we’re looking for:
  • Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar heavy industry environment
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proven commitment to health and safety practices
  • Ability to lead and mentor apprentices or junior fitters (desirable)
