Job summary

SYOS Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Analysis Engineer in New Zealand to lead structural analysis throughout the development of uncrewed platforms. You will apply advanced FEA techniques (ANSYS Mechanical/Workbench) to assess strength, stiffness and integrity under complex loading.

You will correlate simulations with tests, validate results by hand calculations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive robust design decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with a focus on structural analysis.
• Experience applying FEA to real-world designs in aerospace or similar safety-critical domains.
• Strong fundamentals in structural mechanics, materials, loading and failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural analysis activities across development of uncrewed platforms.
• Develop linear and nonlinear analyses including modal and vibration studies.
• Validate results with hand calculations and physical test correlation.
• Document methods, assumptions and results in robust reports.
• Collaborate with design teams to identify risks and propose improvements.
