Job summary

Vector Contour designs and manufactures advanced automatic contour edgebanding machines for customers around the world. Our Revolution Series machines are built in New Zealand with precision engineering and automated systems.

We are seeking a mechanically minded apprentice to join our small workshop team and train toward a recognised qualification in mechanical engineering. You’ll start by manufacturing and assembling accessories, then gradually take on full machine builds as your skills grow.

Qualifications

• No prior trade experience required but genuine mechanical interest and a willingness to learn.
• NZ residency or valid working rights and reliable transport to West Auckland.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble and test machine accessories used with Vector Contour machines.
• Assist with machine assembly alongside experienced team members.
• Learn traditional engineering skills using lathes, mills and drills.
• Operate CNC equipment and 3D printing for components.
• Measure, fit and test components to ensure quality standards.
• Support stock management and workshop organisation as needed.
