Overview

New Seed Solutions, a New Zealand company is a seed production company based in Mauku, in the Pukekohe area, near Auckland. We produce Maize and Sweetcorn seed for export to the Northern Hemisphere in a 100% GMO free environment.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and parts
• Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
• Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed (welding included)
• Performing scheduled maintenance services
• Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired
• Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance

Availability during evenings and weekends is non-negotiable due to the nature of this role. The period leading up to Christmas and through the New Year is especially demanding, but you may be scheduled for occasional days off, subject to manager approval.

Requirements

1. Must be legal to work in New Zealand
2. Experience in horticulture
3. Must be able to weld
4. Practical mechanical & operational skills. Able to work constructively alone and in a team.
5. Available to work some weekends
6. Physically capable of undertaking rigorous manual tasks.
