Job description

As we continue to grow, an exciting opportunity has arisen, and we are on the look-out for a new Mechanic to join our team. Operating from our busy North Shore depot, you'll be at the forefront of servicing an extensive range of vehicles and equipment which range from tractors, trucks, Utes, Mowers and everything in between.

What You'll Be Doing

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Assist mechanics in completing project work efficiently
  • Tackle advanced vehicle electrical issues and perform heavy vehicle engine work
  • Diagnose vehicle failures, remove, and replace parts as needed
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, or replace broken parts
  • Execute other support duties as required for smooth operations
  • Place part orders and record charges to the vehicle account
  • Check all work and ensure defect-free assembly before the final inspection
  • Read job orders, observe, and listen to vehicles to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures
  • Reassemble equipment after inspections, testing, or repairs
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules, regulations, and LTSA/NZTA standards
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Relevant mechanical trade certifications and 3+ years of hands‑on experience
  • Proven expertise in engine repair, machine assembly and disassembly, and exhaust systems
  • Sharp critical thinking skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, delivering diagnoses to customers with a positive and reassuring attitude
  • Proficiency in fixing parts on diverse vehicles, including tractors, trucks, utes, and mowers
  • Leadership abilities, ready to lend support to team members when required
