Job description

Fresh Meats NZ is a boutique Napier based Lamb processor operating year-round manufacturing of products destined for both domestic and export markets.

Fresh Meats NZ is part of the Integrated Foods Group, an international food processing and agribusiness with large scale farming in Gisborne.

Fresh Meats NZ has recently received accreditation to hire migrant workers using the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV).

Fresh Meats NZ has an alternate day processing schedule, primary processing (Slaughter) one day and secondary processing (Boning) the next. Every day is different and allows you to gain experience in both areas of the process.

We require people who can work in a fast-paced environment, are reliable and motivated, physically fit and healthy, have a positive and hardworking attitude, and can work well within a team.

We have positions vacant on the day shift. Normal hours of work are 6am - 3pm, Monday to Friday.

Lamb Technicians

We have positions available for those new to the Meat Industry or those with experience on the line but not on the knife.

As a labourer, you will work on primary processing tasks in the slaughter floor, and secondary processing tasks, including packing and chiller work.

You will need to have:

  1. Proven record of attendance.
  2. Reliable transport.
  3. A willing to learn attitude.
  4. Meat industry experience and/or some knife handling skills would be an advantage but are not essential, as we provide full training for those who are up for the challenge and prepared to put in the work.

All applicants must pass a pre-employment drug test and meat handlers medical check.
