Job summary

A high school in Canterbury is seeking a full-time Mathematics teacher to join their supportive faculty. Responsibilities
  • Teaching mathematics across Y9-13, including NCEA Levels 1–3 (essential)
  • Opportunities to teach Level 3 calculus and/or statistics (advantageous)
  • Contribute to a supportive faculty that values rich tasks, visible learning and effective use of assessment for learning
  • Participate in our whānau-based pastoral system and wider co-curricular life
You will bring
  • Current NZ teacher registration and NZ secondary mathematics experience (or equivalent)
  • Strong pedagogical practice, including differentiation and effective feedback
  • Commitment to equitable outcomes, culturally sustaining practice, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Willingness to collaborate, reflect and keep learning whilst embracing our whānau culture
  • Sound understanding of the New Zealand Curriculumincluding NCEA
  • Ability to teach up to Level 3
  • An ability to build positive relationships with ākonga and high expectations for every learner in the classroom
  • Strong classroom management practices
