The opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and industry-savvy Lecturer specialising in Business or Business Intelligence to join our School of Business Technology. This is an exciting opportunity for an academic professional to contribute to teaching and curriculum development of our Masters in Business Intelligence in a rapidly evolving field that blends data-driven decision-making with ethical, strategic business leadership.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking programme preparing graduates for leadership in business intelligence, analytics and applied business.

The role involves teaching, curriculum development, assessment, and research supervision across areas such as:

  • Business analysis, strategy, and ethical leadership
  • Research methods and organisational transformation
  • Business intelligence modelling and AI for business
  • Human resource management and customer/marketing analytics
  • Data visualisation, knowledge management, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship
  • Information systems, information security, and the ethical, legal, and social implications of data
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and industry-relevant lectures, tutorials and workshops
  • Guide learners in applied projects and research
  • Contribute to curriculum design, assessment and quality assurance processes
  • Engage with industry partners to ensure teaching is aligned with emerging practice
  • Participate in academic research and professional development

You are an experienced lecturer in Business. You bring a strong academic background, industry-relevant experience and a passion for innovative pedagogy in business intelligence.

You Will Have

  • A relevant postgraduate qualification (Master’s or Doctorate preferred) in Business or related field
  • Teaching or professional experience in one or more of the subject areas listed
  • Experience with NZQA programme design, assessment, and moderation
  • Commitment to learner success and culturally responsive teaching
  • Active involvement in research
  • Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ability to embed its principles in your teaching
  • Knowledge of current BI and AI tools and their real-world applications in business
