Main Objective: The main objective of the Master Data Analyst, APAC is to facilitate the creation and maintenance of high quality master data related to all Arthrex materials and customers for the Asia Pacific Region. By implementing and executing policies and procedures at the regional level to ensure master data meets global standards. This role plays an important part in protecting a key Arthrex asset: the master data that enables the company to share information, process transactions, plan and execute business operations globally. The Master Data Analyst serves as a liaison to the global Product Life Cycle Management, Procure to Purchase (PTP) and Order To Cash (OTC) process owners. Through these relationships, the Master Data Analyst receives the tools, policies, procedure, training and ongoing guidance necessary to ensure that the practices he/she is following at the Regional level are aligned with Global Master Data practices.

The Master Data Analyst will work with key stakeholders on a regular basis.

  • INC MDG (Master Data Governance): defines the organizational structure, policies, standards, ownership and metrics used to manage data.
  • Subsidiary Data Requestors: Functional team members responsible for providing the source data of the master data needed in each country (e.g., country Demand Planners may provide material master data for locally purchased products or product extension requests facilitated through the APAC Master Data Management team).
  • Subsidiary Data Stewards: Local Regulatory, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, Sourcing and Distribution professionals who provide and use specific master data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The main duties of the Master Data Analyst are: Data Administration, Data Stewardship, Product Lifecycle Management Facilitation and Process Improvements.

Data Administration includes those tasks necessary to set up and maintain the respective Master Data in the SAP system.

  • Facilitate the creation of new material master data submitted by the subsidiary data requestors.
  • Perform costing run for the material within the region / plant.
  • Maintain and/or enrich other related data e.g.: Purchase Information Records, Source Lists, etc.
  • Create and/or amend customer master data after performing quality checks.
  • Receive, analyze and implement requests for changes to material master and customer master data in cooperation with country data requestors and other country data stewards.
  • Respond to requests from data users to analyze and help resolve data problems that may be causing downstream transactional issues.
  • Maintain data cleanliness to ensure data integrity.
  • Maintain the service level agreement agreed with subsidiary data requestors and other subsidiary data stewards.

Data Stewardship includes setting up and maintaining the regional procedures necessary for creating and maintaining high quality data. They are:

  • Maintain and support strong working relationships with subsidiary data requestors and other country data stewards.
  • Measure and report on regional data quality and adherence to the service level agreement.
  • Review existing processes and make recommendations to improve efficiency and accuracy, while adhering to company processes.
  • Coordinate with various key stakeholders, e.g., quality, finance, to effectuate required attributes within material master for a smooth end-to-end transaction within SAP.

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) facilitation involves collaborating with commercial and Product Managers/Marketing to ensure that product lifecycle strategies are implemented timely and accurately in the ERP system. They are:

  • Establishing appropriate master data settings to support the new product ramp-up or phase-out strategies.
  • Assist to speed products to market by planning for and streamlining material master data setup for new product launches.
  • Facilitate the collection of relevant data to compile specific PLM strategies.

Assist with or lead special projects, including Process Improvements, presentations materials and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years Master Data experience or related experience within Supply Chain.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training
  • Excellent analytical abilities and attention to details.
  • Knowledge of how the multiple SAP Master Data impact the business.
  • Good written and oral English language communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a group environment.
  • Proficiency in any additional language is advantageous.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills
  • Intermediate to expert level Microsoft Excel.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office Applications with emphasis on mass data manipulation tools such as Excel (Pivot Tables, Macros and Vlookup).
  • Power BI and SAP R3 / HANA knowledge is a MUST.
