Job summary

New Zealand Defence Force – Devonport, North Island, is seeking a Boating Instructor to design, deliver and evaluate small craft training for NZDF personnel. This hands-on role combines boating instruction, course development, mentoring and stakeholder engagement to ensure maritime training is delivered safely and to the highest standards.

You will deliver courses, assess competency, update materials to regulatory standards, and maintain records and risk management.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering boating instruction and coursework.
• Ability to assess student competency and provide coaching.
• Familiarity with Maritime Regulatory authority standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver NZDF small craft boating courses and practical training.
• Assessing student competency and providing coaching and ongoing support.
• Updating instructional materials to ensure it is up to date and conforms to all Maritime Regulatory authority standards.
• Maintaining accurate records, course documentation and risk management requirements.
