The role blends engineering expertise with operations leadership and customer interaction, offering a varied mix of workshop, on-vessel, and field work.

Qualifications

• Proven marine engineering experience on vessels.
• Knowledge of engines, propulsion, hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience in operations, supervision, or management in the marine industry.
• Strong communication with skippers and customers.
• Hands-on approach and ability to use tools.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Full New Zealand driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day marine engineering operations across vessels.
• Perform hands-on maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting.
• Meet skippers, vessel owners, and customers to understand needs and provide solutions.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules and project work.
• Lead and support a team of marine engineers and technicians.
• Ensure all work is safe, on time, and meets industry standards.
• Build long-term customer relationships through exceptional service and communication.
