Te Rūnanga o Waihao in Waimate is seeking a motivated Marae Coordinator to provide maternity leave cover. You will coordinate marae bookings, prepare spaces for hui and events, and provide manaaki to whānau and visitors while supporting health and safety processes.

This fixed-term, part-time role starts 1 October 2026, with occasional evening or weekend events. Tikanga Māori understanding, organisation, and strong communication are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating marae bookings and supporting visitors.
• Preparing the marae for hui, wānanga, events, and whānau activities.
• Providing manaaki and hospitality for whānau and manuhiri.
• Coordinating cleaners and ensuring facilities are ready for bookings and events.
• Supporting event planning, administration, and health and safety processes.
• Working alongside whānau, volunteers, contractors, and staff to deliver successful events and activities.
• Helping strengthen whānau engagement and participation through marae-based activities.
