Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Auckland is seeking a Training & Capability Lead to design and maintain training and competency frameworks for our manufacturing teams. You will govern the ETMS, collaborate with HR and operations, and drive capability initiatives across sites to ensure safe, confident and effective performance.

You will identify capability gaps, create learning materials and SOPs, and lead competency assessment programs while coaching leaders in train-the-trainer practices.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating training, learning and development, competency management or workforce capability programs.
• Experience implementing or managing a learning management system or training platform.
• Background in manufacturing, production, industrial or operational environments.
• Experience developing and maintaining skills matrices and competency frameworks.
• Strong capability in creating training materials, procedures and learning resources.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office and learning platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain training and competency frameworks that support operational capability and business needs.
• Manage and continuously improve the employee training management system (ETMS), driving adoption and effectiveness.
• Identify training priorities through skills gap analysis and stakeholder engagement.
• Create and maintain learning materials, SOPs and training guides.
• Coordinate training requirements for new equipment, processes and operational changes.
• Lead competency assessment programs and maintain skills matrices.
• Coach and support leaders in training practices using train-the-trainer approaches.
• Monitor, track and report on training completion and compliance metrics.
