Job summary

Gallagher is seeking a Process Engineer in Hamilton to join the Manufacturing Engineering function on a permanent day shift (7:00am–4:00pm, Mon–Fri). You will analyse processes, drive improvements, and support NPI, with close collaboration across production, maintenance and quality teams.

Ideal candidates are experienced engineers with a strong background in Lean/Six Sigma, SMT, soldering and coatings, committed to safety and quality, and able to manage multiple initiatives independently in a

Qualifications

• NZQA qualification, Diploma, or equivalent in Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or related field.
• Proven experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems like SMT, soldering, and coatings.
• Experience applying Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical capability.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• The ability to manage multiple initiatives independently.
• A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Analyse manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Develop and implement process optimisation strategies to improve productivity and performance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance and quality teams to drive improvements.
• Support equipment maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting to minimise downtime.
• Provide technical support to resolve equipment and process issues.
• Support New Product Introduction for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
• Develop, maintain and update process documentation, SOPs and training materials.
• Train production teams on new processes, equipment and safety protocols.
