Job description
About Us

From simple beginnings as a vinyl flooring contractor six decades ago before transitioning into the world of PVC and Polyethylene pipe systems, we have evolved into a symbol of New Zealand's innovative spirit, standing tall as one of the country's most prominent manufacturers in the plastics industry.

In this exciting role, you would be the guardian of safety and quality, ensuring that products are manufactured to meet both our production plans and our clients' expectations. From day one, you'll be the driving power of excellence across our bustling Manurewa site, with the potential to steer the helm at multiple locations in the future. You will also shape the future of our company by nurturing the development of our manufacturing leaders and crafting robust succession plans.

This is more than just a job — it's a chance to leave a lasting legacy in a thriving company.

About The Role
  • Lead Health and Safety initiatives, enhancing the manufacturing teams, knowledge of safety policies, advancing the health and safety culture of the site, and implementing and supporting quality and environmental standards (ISO9001 and ISO14001).
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensure consistent quality and environmental standards are met within the team.
  • Provide strong site leadership to the Manufacturing Teams and coach team members to ensure continuity of knowledge and skills in manufacturing practices.
  • Assist team leaders in promoting a culture of high-quality manufacturing and maintaining exceptional health, safety and quality standards.
  • Participate in Leadership Team activities such as Monthly Site Reviews and Business Planning sessions.
  • Work with the GM Manufacturing & Technical to implement and share best practices for enhanced cost efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Influence and manage multiple stakeholders within a matrix organization, ensuring collaboration and sharing of best practices across the APAC region.
  • Contribute to the development of Best Place to Work objectives through effective people management and talent management.
About You

We’re seeking a candidate with at least 10 years of experience and a relevant tertiary qualification. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Safety, Health and Environmental standards and compliance, experience in instilling a safety-first culture, and leadership skills for both short and long-term performance. They should possess analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and be able to inspire stakeholders and team members. They should be comfortable managing multiple resources, take initiative and deliver value to the customer. Experience in continuous improvement, Six Sigma and LEAN, preferably in plastic or continuous manufacturing industries.

Why join us?
  • You will enjoy working for a business that is conscious about what we do, how it operates and our environmental impact.
  • Industry-leading paid parental leave — 26 weeks paid parental leave for primary carer and 4 weeks for secondary carer.
  • Annual bonus based on performance for eligible employees.
  • Employee Assistance Program access.
  • Recognition programs and service awards.
  • Tailored career development opportunities at home and abroad.
  • Opportunity to join women mentoring programs.
  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion is a core value; opportunity to join the DEI council.
  • A safe work environment with a strong focus on "Go for Zero".
