Job summary

Westpac is seeking a Manager, Virtual Wealth Advice in Auckland to build and lead a dispersed team delivering personalised financial advice via phone and video. You will create a scalable service model, ensuring clear performance measures while maintaining high-quality outcomes for diverse clients.

You will drive change, embed new workflows, and partner with Product, Risk and Operations to grow a compliant, accessible virtual advice channel for NZ customers.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience within financial advice, or wealth management.
  • Experience as an investment Financial Adviser and hold a relevant qualification.
  • Strong understanding of investment products, KiwiSaver and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with digital or virtual service-delivery models.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching and relationship-management capability.
  • Ability to establish clear performance expectations and lead a high-volume, service-focused team.
  • Confidence leading change and embedding new ways of working.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Digital confidence with Microsoft tools (Power BI, Outlook, Teams).
  • Genuine customer focus and commitment to accessible financial advice.
  • Experience with Westpac systems and processes would be advantageous.

Job description

Manager, Virtual Wealth Advice

  • Located at Takutai Square, Auckland CBD
  • Monday to Friday

This is an opportunity to shape and lead a new virtual advice channel that will make quality financial advice more accessible to more New Zealanders.

As Manager, Virtual Wealth Advice, you’ll lead a team of Virtual Wealth Advisers, Consultants and Cadets delivering personalised financial advice through telephone and video channels. You’ll establish a consistent, high-performing service model that combines trusted customer relationships with the convenience and scalability of digital delivery.

You’ll play a pivotal role in improving access to advice for customers with lower to mid-level funds under management, supporting our Active Series and KiwiSaver advice obligations, and preparing the channel for future digital and robo-advice capabilities

You’ll provide visible, purposeful leadership to a geographically dispersed team, creating an environment where people are supported to develop, perform and deliver great customer outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Virtual Wealth Advisers, Consultants and Cadets.
  • Build a high-performing, digitally capable team with clear expectations, success measures and operating rhythms.
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality financial advice through telephone and video-based customer interactions.
  • Embed a customer-centred approach that ensures advice is clear, simple and aligned with each customer’s goals.
  • Maintain consistent standards across customer interactions, advice quality and the overall virtual experience.
  • Manage performance across advice volumes, customer contact service levels, turnaround times and customer experience measures.
  • Optimise workflows across telephone, video and digital channels while balancing efficiency, quality and customer outcomes.
  • Oversee end-to-end support services, including product processing and post-advice activity.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing management of the Wealth Office cadet programme, including structured onboarding, supervised development and progression pathways.
  • Build strong partnerships across Wealth Office leadership, Product, Risk and Operations, while championing the value of virtual advice.

To be successful, you’ll bring:
