Job summary

Westpac Lower Hutt is seeking a Banking Adviser to welcome customers and turn everyday banking into a positive experience. You will help with accounts, KiwiSaver, insurance, and digital tools, while guiding customers to the right products with care and clarity.

You'll thrive if you enjoy helping people, working in a community, and delivering service with warmth. This full-time, permanent role runs Tuesday to Saturday and offers generous leave and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years' experience in a customer-focused role.
  • Excellent communication and ability to build trust quickly.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to uncover customer needs.
  • Comfort with digital tools and guiding customers through technology.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of banking products, services, and regulatory requirements (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Create positive customer experiences and engage customers to understand needs.
  • Help customers with accounts, KiwiSaver, insurance, and digital banking tools.
  • Coach customers through product usage and online banking features.
  • Support community relationships and represent Westpac in the neighbourhood.

You'll bring curiosity, warmth, and sharp listening skills to every conversation, matching customers with the right products, tools, and advice to make their financial lives easier and more empowering.

In this role, you'll champion digital banking, deepen relationships with existing customers, welcome new ones into the Westpac whānau, and help us grow our presence in the neighbourhood.
