Job summary

The Reserve Bank - Te Pūtea Matua in Wellington, NZ seeks a strategic, senior technology leader to drive the Bank's technology strategy, architecture governance, and AI-enabled transformations. • Strong knowledge of emerging technologies, digital assets, payments, cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and their interaction with modern financial systems.
• Proven experience with AI.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, lead high-performing teams, and translate complex technology opportunities into business value.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on building a sustainable high-performance culture.

In this influential leadership role, you'll:

• Drive RBNZ's technology strategy, leading our architecture practice, architecture and design governance, and technology roadmaps that enable the Bank's future ambitions.
• Identify and champion emerging technologies, assessing their potential to improve operations, enhance customer and colleague experiences, and deliver meaningful outcomes across the Bank.
• Take a lead role in the way that Artificial Intelligence is further deployed and utilised across the Bank and provide thought leadership into AI-enabled business transformation.
• Lead strategic technology initiatives, including providing technology leadership and expertise to the Payments Modernisation programme and the future of New Zealand's financial ecosystem.

The anticipated appointment range for this role is $208,529 to $243,284 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).

You'll bring extensive experience leading technology strategy, architecture, governance, and transformation in complex environments, ideally within financial services.
