Job summary

Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities is seeking a senior leader to establish and drive enterprise-wide information and knowledge management. You will govern information assets, support intelligent decision making, and deliver a modern digital workplace.

This role leads in a complex public sector environment, aligning information strategy with regulatory requirements and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles. You will shape the information governance framework, lead a high-performing team, and

  • Establish and govern information assets to support decision making and digital workplace.
  • Strong expertise in records management, compliance, and regulatory environments.
  • Ability to translate strategy into delivery and lead high-performing teams.
  • Understanding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and partnership principles.

The Manager – Information is a senior leadership role responsible for establishing and leading enterprise-wide information and knowledge management at Kāinga Ora. The role ensures information assets are effectively managed, governed, and leveraged to support a modern, intelligence-led organisation, enabling better decision-making and a seamless digital workplace experience.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Set and deliver the organisation’s information management strategy and roadmap
  • Establish and maintain information governance frameworks, policies, and standards
  • Ensure compliance with the Public Records Act and regulatory requirements
  • Lead delivery of information lifecycle management systems and processes
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation, including emerging technologies
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and influence enterprise-wide adoption
  • Lead and develop a high-performing information management team
  • Contribute to the Data, Insights & AI leadership strategy
  • Proven experience leading information management and governance in complex organisations
  • Strong expertise in records management, compliance, and regulatory environments
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategy into delivery
  • Demonstrated people leadership and team development capability
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Experience driving organisational change and continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills and ability to simplify complex concepts
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to partnership principles
