About the Opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga

This is an opportunity to provide senior finance leadership across a complex portfolio, working alongside Global Engineering & Technical leaders, Capital Project teams, Operations, FP&A and wider Finance stakeholders.

As Manager, Finance Partnering, Global Engineering & Technical, you will be a trusted commercial adviser to senior leaders, bringing together strategic finance partnering, capital portfolio expertise and strong commercial judgement.

You will shape strategy, business plans, targets and investment decisions by bringing financial discipline, constructive challenge and clear recommendations that balance operational priorities, risk and long-term value. A key part of the role will be translating complex financial, commercial and project information into practical insights that support confident decision-making.

You will also provide financial leadership across the investment and project lifecycle, connecting project performance, funding, cash flow, commitments, forecasts and strategic objectives to create a clear portfolio-level view.

A few areas of focus will be to:

  • Provide commercial insight and financial leadership across the full capital investment lifecycle, including forecasting, cash flow, accruals, commitments, cost-to-complete, capitalisation and project close-out.
  • Lead integrated planning, budgeting and forecasting across the GET portfolio and assigned capital portfolios.
  • Challenge project controls, business cases and forecast assumptions to improve delivery confidence, cost efficiency and value for money.
  • Monitor financial and operational performance, identifying emerging risks, opportunities and corrective actions.
  • Translate complex project and financial information into clear, concise recommendations for finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strengthen financial governance, portfolio reporting and investment decision-making.
  • Coach project managers and portfolio leaders to build financial, commercial, business-case and project-finance capability.
About You | Mōu

You are an experienced senior finance partner who combines strong financial capability with commercial curiosity, sound judgement and the confidence to influence at a senior level.

You will be comfortable operating in a fast paced complex, capital-intensive environments where priorities compete, information can be ambiguous and effective decisions require an enterprise-wide perspective. You can move easily between strategic conversations and detailed portfolio analysis, translating complexity into a clear commercial story.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Accountant membership or equivalent professional accreditation would be preferred.
  • Significant senior finance partnering, commercial or accounting experience within a complex organisation.
  • Strong capital project or portfolio finance expertise, covering planning, forecasting, cost control, governance, reporting, capitalisation and close-out.
  • Experience gained within construction, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing or another complex operational environment.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, provide constructive challenge and build trusted relationships.
  • Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to assess risks, opportunities and trade-offs and turn analysis into practical recommendations.
  • Experience in financial planning, modelling, scenario analysis, performance reporting and portfolio governance.
  • The ability to communicate complex financial and project information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Experience supporting process improvement, business change and cross-functional ways of working.
