What is the role about?

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing site on a dedicated afternoon/night shift. This role is critical to ensuring our equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards, enabling safe, efficient, and compliant production.

With a strong mechanical aptitude, a background in preventative maintenance and fault finding, you’ll play a key role in minimising downtime, improving machine performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. While technical expertise is essential, we’re also looking for someone who thrives in a team environment, collaborating with others, sharing knowledge, and contributing to a positive and productive workplace culture.

In this role, you will report directly to the Maintenance Lead, working closely with the Production and Quality teams to ensure plant reliability and performance are consistently optimised.

Responsibilities
  • Performing reactive and preventative maintenance across all plant equipment and machinery
  • Supporting capital projects and contributing to operational improvements
  • Conducting mechanical fault finding and repairs, including pneumatic systems
  • Ensuring changeover repeatability and developing equipment setup protocols
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, including downtime logs and stock take records
  • Updating and managing the preventative maintenance system (MEX)
  • Supporting the development and rollout of SOPs and other process documentation
  • Promoting food safety and quality standards across all maintenance activities
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement efficiency improvements
  • Championing health and safety practices throughout the site
  • Flexibility to work alternate Saturday shifts when required
Qualifications

Who are you?

  • A recognised Trade Qualification (Mechanical Engineering Level 4 – manufacturing/industrial)
  • Maintenance experience in FMCG or similar environments
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of GMP, food safety, and quality systems
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, MEX - preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Initiative, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to improvement
  • Familiarity with basic electrical systems or controls would be a plus
  • Valid Unrestricted Work Visa
