Job summary

Drifter is opening a new Wellington property in December 2026 and seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance across the building, ensuring safety, functionality and guest comfort from day one.

You'll manage preventative maintenance, coordinate contractors, conduct compliance checks and work with the leadership team to establish maintenance systems and schedules for pre-opening success.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, facilities management or property operations within hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance systems and equipment.
• Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance schedules.
• Understanding of compliance, workplace safety and risk management.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventative maintenance program across the property.
• Carry out repairs, maintenance and improvement works.
• Manage contractors and ensure safe, high‑standard work.
• Conduct routine compliance checks, testing and record keeping.
• Respond to maintenance requests and prioritise tasks.
• Collaborate with Host and Housekeeping to minimise room downtime.
• Monitor costs, expenditure and contractor performance.
• Maintain external areas and property presentation.
• Support emergency maintenance needs as required.
• Help establish maintenance systems and pre‑opening schedules.
