What You'll Do

Huntly Power Station is looking for an exceptional Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance and asset management and shape the future of one of New Zealand's most critical power generation sites. In this high impact role, you\'ll bring the Asset Management Strategy to life, ensuring assets operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Reporting to the Huntly Site Manager, you will lead 4 teams that cover our mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation trades, driving innovation and continuous improvement to maximise asset performance. Combining strategic vision with operational expertise, you will be accountable for maintaining peak plant availability, overseeing major maintenance outages, and delivering projects that enhance asset value and resilience. As a trusted advisor to the Site Manager and wider leadership team, you will influence key decisions that shape the long-term performance and sustainability of the station.

What You'll Need

You are a strategic and hands-on engineering leader with a proven track record in maintenance, asset management, and team leadership within heavy industry. You thrive in challenging environments and are passionate about developing high-performing teams, implementing innovative asset strategies, and driving operational excellence. You have strong technical expertise, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a deep commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Extensive experience in asset management, including development and execution of maintenance strategies, lifecycle planning, and condition monitoring
  • Proven leadership experience with a focus on developing and engaging high-performing teams
  • Strong decision-making, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to align teams to strategic objectives
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety leadership and continuous improvement in complex operations.
