Job summary

Loveblock Wines in Awatere Valley, Marlborough, is seeking a reliable Machine Operator / Vineyard Maintenance to work with our certified organic team. You’ll run a tractor, mow, spray, spread compost, and help with cover crops, irrigation, and basic grafting, while keeping equipment in top condition.

This role requires a can-do attitude, a valid driver’s licence, willingness to start early and help out at harvest weekends, and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience operating tractors and maintaining vineyard equipment.
• Able to start early and work weekends during harvest.
• Detail-oriented with safety emphasis.
• Clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor for mowing, spraying, compost spreading, and cultivation.
• Maintain and service vineyard machinery (mowers, sprayers, trimmers).
• Assist with irrigation and trellis work.
• Support general vineyard grafting tasks as needed.
• Work safely and with attention to detail.

Machine Operator / Vineyard Maintenance — Loveblock Wines, Awatere Valley Marlborough

Loveblock farms organically, low-intervention, and completely unafraid to do things differently — because the land tells you what it needs, if you're willing to listen. That takes a good tractor operator who actually pays attention.

We're after someone who can run a tractor like it's second nature — mowing, spraying, spreading compost, cultivating cover crops — and who's just as handy keeping the gear that does it, (mowers, mulchers, sprayers, trimmers) running clean and sharp. Add in some irrigation, trellis work, and general vineyard graft, and you've got the job.

What You'll Need

• A driver's licence and a genuine can-do streak
• Growsafe certificate is a bonus, but can be arranged
• Comfortable starting early, and pitching in on the odd weekend at harvest
• An eye for detail — vineyards change daily, and so do you
• A team mentality, a straight-up work ethic, and respect for doing things safely
