Job summary

TRICAL is seeking a practical, hands-on Machine Operator and Assembly team member to join our Wiri-based team in Auckland. You will help assemble electrical enclosures and switchboards while learning with full training and strong emphasis on safety and quality.

You will work in a supportive production environment, where reliability, accuracy and team communication are valued. No prior experience is required, but a willingness to learn and stay organised and safe is essential.

Qualifications

  • Reliable, practical and keen to learn.
  • Willing to work safely in a production environment.
  • Comfortable learning how to use tools and machinery.
  • Experience in manufacturing or assembly is helpful but not essential.
  • Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and sub-assemble electrical products and components.
  • Operate production equipment safely with training.
  • Check finished products meet quality standards.
  • Keep work area, tools and equipment clean, organized and safe.
  • Complete daily time sheets and support the team to keep production running.

Job description

Looking for a practical, hands-on role where you can learn, build confidence and be part of a supportive production team? We are looking for a Machine Operator and Assembly team member to join our Wiri-based team.

TRICAL is a leading New Zealand manufacturer of electrical enclosures and switchboards, based in Wiri, Auckland. For over 60 years we have been producing four iconic brands: Teubels, Gael, ETL and Signet.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in accurate work and likes being part of a team that values safety, quality and care. You do not need to have done everything before — if you are reliable, willing to learn and comfortable working with tools and machinery, we can support you to build your skills.

What you’ll be doing
  • Assembling and sub-assembling a range of electrical products and components.
  • Operating production equipment safely, with full training and support where needed.
  • Checking finished products to make sure they meet quality standards.
  • Keeping your work area, tools and equipment clean, organised and safe.
  • Completing daily time sheets and supporting the team to keep production running smoothly.
About you
  • You are reliable, practical and keen to learn.
  • You take pride in doing things carefully and accurately.
  • You enjoy hands-on work and are comfortable learning how to use tools and machinery.
  • You value a clean, safe and organised workplace.
  • You communicate well and are happy to ask questions when you need help.
  • Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or machine operation would be helpful, but it is not essential.
  • If you have transferable skills from other practical roles, study or life experience, we would still like to hear
  • from you.
