Job summary

JD Sports in LynnMall, Auckland, is seeking a full-time Textile Sales Assistant to deliver exceptional customer service, share product knowledge, and help customers find the best brands.

You will work across Sundays to Thursdays, handle sales and queries, contribute to store presentation, and participate in training. A passion for sports fashion and a can-do attitude are essential for thriving in our fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience in retail, hospitality or similar
• Ability to deliver excellent, memorable service to customers
• Passion for sports fashion and knowledge of key brands
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Act as a brand ambassador, maintaining positivity and professionalism
• Gain and maintain up-to-date product knowledge to assist customers
• Provide personalised 1:1 customer service and support sales
• Assist customers with queries and processing sales transactions
• Collaborate with management and store team to hit KPIs and targets
• Support store presentation, VM setup, cleanliness and presentation
• Escalate customer complaints to management when needed
• Complete mandatory training related to product, policy and procedures

THE ROLE

As a Sales Assistant you are responsible for, but not limited to:

Act as a brand ambassador, always showing positivity and professionalism

Gain and maintain up to date product knowledge to best assist our customers

Provide personalised 1:1 customer service

Assist customers with all queries and process sales

Work in collaboration with the wider Management and store team to achieve KPI’s and targets

Support wider team with ad hoc tasks, including VM set up, store cleanliness and presentation etc.

Escalate any customer complaints to management

Consistently complete any mandatory training relevant to product, policy & procedure etc

WHAT WE’R LOOKING FOR

Customer service experience within retail, hospitality or like industry

Ability to provide excellent service and go above & beyond

Passionate about sports fashion or has a knowledge of key brands

A positive can-do attitude and ability to work as a team

Thrives in a fast paced, ever-changing environment

Enthusiastic to overcome challenges and learn new skills

Strong communication skills, someone who thrives through engagement with customers and team work

Ability to multi-task

Flexibility to work across various shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on store needs
