Job summary

Abercrombie & Kent is seeking a travel consultant to design and sell tailor-made itineraries for New Zealand and Australia, driving sales and supporting the inbound team’s profitability. You will convert enquiries to bookings, manage client requirements, and coordinate with operations to deliver exceptional experiences.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years in travel, strong sales and service skills, knowledge of NZ/AU destinations, and experience with GDS (Amadeus preferred).

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the travel industry.
• Experience in reservations, sales, travel consulting or customer service.
• Ability to create and cost tailor-made FIT itineraries.
• Excellent destination knowledge of Australia and New Zealand.
• Strong sales, customer service and relationship management skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Experience using a Global Distribution System (GDS), preferably Amadeus.
• Experience using travel reservation and booking systems.

Responsibilities

• Consistently achieve individual and team sales and revenue targets.
• Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings through proactive follow-up and relationship management.
• Create bespoke luxury travel itineraries reflecting high standards and guest expectations.
• Qualify client requirements and tailor quotations/bookings to individual needs.
• Prepare accurate, detailed, commercially viable proposals and itineraries.
• Conduct destination, product and logistical research to enhance itinerary quality.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain proactive client communication.
• Manage booking-related administration within AKTGs Reservations Systems.
