Job summary

Rockgas Limited in Queenstown requires a delivery driver to operate as sole charge after training, moving LPG cylinders and delivering them around the Queenstown area with a strong emphasis on safety.

He aha tau mahi - What you will do:

You will often work in a sole charge capacity (after an initial training period) and require a full Class 1 or 2 license. It’s pretty physical as you’ll be moving a lot of LPG cylinders, loading and unloading them on to trucks and delivering them around the Queenstown area. We’re big on health and safety here at Rockgas, so you’ll need to do all this while maintaining a safe work environment.

While it's great if you've already got your Class 2 license (even as a learner), we are also keen to hear from you if you have a full Class 1 and want to get into driving as a career. We will support you to get your Class 2 license and make sure you get lots of driving experience.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

• A minimum Class 1 full licence or a Class 2 heavy trade vehicle licence (a Dangerous Goods endorsement would be an advantage but we can train for this).
• Proven experience driving a truck preferably in a delivery role
• A strong customer service focus
• A very good level of physical fitness in order to move LPG cylinders
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to working as part of a team
• A strong work ethic, integrity and adaptability
• Flexibility to work outside normal business hours and in all weather conditions

The recruitment process for this role involves a medical check which includes a drug and alcohol test, and a criminal record check.
