Qualifications

At Freight Haulage Ltd (FHL), we've been keeping Southland moving for over 50 years. With an extensive, modern fleet, we provide transport solutions across the agricultural, residential, commercial and industrial sectors and are Southland's largest transporter of containerised freight.

We're looking for an experienced Loader Operator to join our busy Stock Food operation in Invercargill. This is a hands on role requiring a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork.

What You'll Be Doing

• Operate loaders safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, and move stock food products.
• Complete daily equipment checks and report faults.
• Maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
• Assist with general yard duties as required.

To Be Considered For This Position, You Must Have

• A minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience as a loader operator.
• Practical experience safely operating forklifts and handling freight.
• A current forklift operator qualification/licence appropriate to the duties.
• A current wheels endorsement and minimum Class 2 driver's licence.
• A sound understanding of safe loading, unloading and freight-handling practices.
• Good communication, numeracy and attention to detail.
• The ability to work safely, independently and as part of a team.
• A reliable, punctual and practical approach to your work.

Knowledge of MPI requirements and experience handling containerised freight would be advantageous. Above all, we're looking for someone who knows the industry, takes safety seriously and enjoys being part of a hardworking team.

Hours and remuneration

• Location: Invercargill, Southland, New Zealand
• Employment type: Permanent, full-time
• Pay rate: NZD $30-$35 per hour, depending on relevant skills and experience
• Minimum guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week

Working arrangements: Monday to Friday, with Saturday morning, weekend and shift work required according to operational and shipping schedules. Specific hours and roster arrangements will be confirmed.
