Job description

BlueBlood Steakhouse at Casa Loma is actively looking for reliable, efficient, and highly motivated individuals to hire as Cooks/Line Cooks to join our growing team.

We are looking for industry professionals – people willing to learn, train, and work hard every day.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment according to restaurant's standardized recipes.
  2. Know and comply consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
  3. Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
  4. Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.
  5. Prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing, or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning, and/or marinating.
  6. Check supplies and prep lists and ensure all items are prepped in a timely fashion. Inventory menu items, stock, and prep area with needed supplies.

Qualifications:

  1. 2-3 years of experience in a high volume, fast-paced restaurant.
  2. Demonstrates the ability to follow directions and meet deadlines.
  3. Ability to safely use food service equipment such as grills, fryers, stoves, and knives.
  4. Possess a food handler's certificate.
  5. Must be able to work legally in Canada.
