Job summary

Northern Rescue Helicopter in Whangarei is seeking an experienced Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) to join our Engineering team. You will maintain, service, inspect, and repair helicopter structures, engines, avionics, and mechanical systems to the highest safety and regulatory standards.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will perform scheduled inspections, diagnose faults, and ensure continuous airworthiness across our life-saving fleet serving Te Tai Tokerau and Tāmaki

Qualifications

• Current NZCAA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (or ability to hold and exercise licence privileges in New Zealand).
• Strong knowledge of aircraft electronic, mechanical, and structural systems.
• Understanding of aircraft maintenance requirements and approved repair procedures.
• Knowledge of aeronautical safety regulations, engineering standards and safe work practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Essential

• Additional avionics or specialist engineering qualifications
