Job summary

Salus Aviation is seeking an experienced Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our field operations, working at customer sites worldwide. You will perform on-site maintenance and release-to-service on AS350 helicopters and BK117s, traveling as required.

Based in New Zealand or abroad, you will contribute to high quality workmanship, maintain full documentation, and support Salus' commitment to safety and reliability across global bases.

Qualifications

  • Must be an experienced Licensed Aviation Mechanical Engineer (at least 3 years post qualification).
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Efficient and well organised.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance of customer helicopters in line with Salus procedures.
  • Identify, document and resolve helicopter defects to ensure safe, airworthy releases.
  • Document and maintain maintenance documentation with audit trail.
  • Maintain paperwork to certify all work and ensure processes are completed.
  • Understand aircraft publications and drawings to interpret information correctly.

The role

We are looking for an experienced Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to work for Salus Aviation at our customer sites around the world, predominantly Africa, Asia and South America. We need someone to work on site confidently and independently who is able to apply their engineering skills, experience and knowledge to the role and who takes pride in producing quality workmanship.This role could be based in New Zealand or overseas - we are willing to make it work for the right candidate!

Each day could see you:
  • Conduct routine maintenance of the customers helicopters in line with Salus engineering procedures.
  • Identify, Document and resolve (as required) helicopter defects, to ensure when released to service they are safe, airworthy and in accordance with requirements.
  • Document, process and maintain all maintenance documentation to ensure business processes are adhered to and an accurate audit trail is maintained.
  • Maintain appropriate paperwork required to certify all work carried out and to ensure general business processes are completed.
  • Understand all relevant aircraft publications, company documentation, drawings and blueprints to ensure that information is interpreted correctly.

Ideally you will have/be:
  • Must be an experienced Licensed Aviation Mechanical Engineer (at least 3 years post qualification) with ratings to release to service on AS350's and BK117's
