Job summary

Managed By People in Mind in Tamahere, a Waikato-based law firm, is seeking a Legal Executive to join a growing team. This role can be part-time or full-time.

You will manage litigation and conveyancing files, draft and format legal documents, liaise with clients, court staff and other professionals, and provide day-to-day support to the partners and wider team.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience as registered Legal Executive.
  • Strong file-management, organisational and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Confidence using legal software (LEAP experience an advantage).

Responsibilities

  • Managing litigation and conveyancing files from start to finish.
  • Diarising matters and related tasks.
  • Drafting and formatting legal documents and correspondence.
  • Liaising with clients, court registrars, and other professionals.
  • Strong file-management, organisational and communication skills.
  • Preparing statutory demands, affidavits of service and other litigation documents.
  • Assisting with evidence management and coordination.
  • Preparing electronic casebooks, exhibit bundles, bundles of authorities, document indexes and references.
  • Liaising with clients to schedule meetings, calls or appointments.
  • Assisting with diary management, court scheduling and general administrative support.
  • Knowledge of AML compliance, and database management.
  • Providing day-to-day support to the partners and wider team.

This Waikato-based law firm, situated between Hamilton and Cambridge, has an opportunity for a Legal Executive on a part-time or full-time basis to join their growing team.

The firm’s work spans litigation, rural, environmental, commercial, conveyancing, employment, dispute resolution, relationship property, estates and succession planning providing a wide variety of work. You will be working closely with the partners and senior solicitors in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Working closely with the partners, you will play a key role in ensuring matters progress smoothly and clients receive outstanding service. From day one you will be a trusted and essential person in this diverse role.

About you

You are confident in managing files, curious, excel in communicating with clients and the team, provide support to a growing team with efficiency and good humour.

  • At least 5 years’ experience as registered Legal Executive
  • Strong file-management, organisational and communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Confidence using legal software (LEAP experience an advantage)
  • Rural knowledge, experience or background (an advantage)
  • A positive, can-do attitude and an ability to work both independently and as part of a team
