About the role

We are looking for a Legal Counsel who will provide support to DUAL’s legal team and support the continuing growth of DUAL ANZ’s compliance hub and business needs. This fast-paced and detailed role sees internal engagement to provide technical product support whilst responding to external compliance requirements.

Role responsibilities

  • Providing high quality, strategic and commercially focused legal and governance advice to DUAL’s business units, including effectively managing external counsel
  • Reviewing and drafting policy wording, product disclosure statements, target market determinations, policy documentation and other financial services collateral
  • Monitoring legislative/regulatory changes and provision of advice to proactively identify issues which may impact strategy, operational issues or business processes.

About you

As an experienced problem solver, you possess the skill to communicate intricate concepts to stakeholders across all levels of the business, have analytical approach and excellent problem-solving skills. Having completed legal qualifications and hold a current practising certificate, you’ll ideally have at least 5+ (five) years’ PQE experience and knowledge of insurance products, policy wordings and coverages.

With strong written and verbal skills, you communicate confidently and enjoying collaborating with others to deliver business requirements and achieve shared success. While experience within an insurance in-house legal team is preferred, we’ll consider applications from those with litigation or claims backgrounds.
