Experienced registered nurses sought to deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing education to the future nursing workforce of Aotearoa New Zealand. Full-time position available, based in Whanganui.

Te āheinga: The Opportunity

The School of Nursing has state-of-the art teaching facilities, run by staff with extensive clinical and academic experience. Our focus is on ensuring that ākonga undertaking the Bachelor of Nursing programme are fully equipped and work‑ready to meet the demands of the ever‑changing healthcare environment. UCOL’s School of Nursing delivers quality programmes in a in a holistic, supportive environment based on Te Whare Tapa Whā.

We are seeking an exceptional registered nurse to join our highly motivated and supportive team in providing nursing education to the future nursing workforce of Aotearoa New Zealand. The main focus of this Lecturer, Nurse Education, position will be supporting ākonga to meet the Nursing Council of New Zealand Standards of Competence during their clinical placements. You will also teach ākonga in the classroom and simulation lab, and through the online learning environment. In addition, you will be supported to actively engage in professional development and research opportunities.

We currently have a 1.0 FTE, permanent position available. This position will be based in Whanganui but may require some travel around the region to support ākonga on clinical placement. Competitive salary, subject to qualifications and experience.

Requirements
  • A full driver’s licence
  • Evidence of serology and immune status screening

The successful applicant must undergo a criminal convictions check by the Ministry of Justice.
