Job summary

Hutt Intermediate School in Wellington is seeking a fixed-term full-time teacher to lead ORS specialist teaching and support for students funded through the ORS scheme. You will coordinate IEPs, transition planning and work closely with classroom teachers, teacher aides, whānau and external agencies to ensure coherent learner-centred support.

You will support English Language Learners, build strong relationships with whānau, and contribute to inclusive teaching practices across the school.

Qualifications

• ORS specialist teaching and coordination: lead learning programmes for students funded through ORS; coordinate IEPs and transition planning with teachers, aides and whānau.
• English Language Learning: support ELL learners to access the curriculum through small-group and in-class support.
• Whānau partnerships: build strong, trusting relationships with families and whānau, reflecting their voice in learning goals.
• Inclusive practice: strengthen inclusive teaching across the school.

Responsibilities

• Lead ORS learning programmes and coordinate IEPs with staff, whānau and MOE Learning Support staff.
• Support ELL learners to develop language skills and confidently access the curriculum in small groups and class settings.
• Foster whānau partnerships and reflect their aspirations in student goals and outcomes.
• Strengthen inclusive teaching practices across the school.
