Overview

Frankton School is seeking a dedicated teacher to join our team in 2026 as our new learning support coordinator (LSC). This is a full-time, fully released position. The LSC will play a key role in supporting inclusive practice across the school, working closely alongside senior leaders, staff, whaanau, and outside agencies. Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher. English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts.

Responsibilities
  • Building teacher capability to meet diverse learning needs
  • Building teacher capability to provide a proactive and inclusive approach for students with high behaviour needs and/or neurodiversity
  • Supporting students and whaanau with accessing support
  • Partnering with whaanau to strengthen learning support pathways
  • Coordinating with outside agencies to provide timely resources and interventions
  • Analysing data to inform practice and improve outcomes for priority learners
  • Contributing to school-wide strategies that foster inclusive learning environments

We seek an applicant with strong communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.

This role is not suitable for overseas teachers with no New Zealand teaching experience.
