Takanini School is a full primary situated in South Auckland. We are a multicultural school that celebrates diversity and is committed to inclusive practices. We are seeking an experienced and energetic teacher to join our team in 2026 as our new Learning Support Coordinator (LSC). This is a full-time, fully released position for a teacher holding a Tūturu | Full Practising Certificate.

The LSC will play a key role in supporting inclusive practice across the school, working closely alongside our SENCo, staff, whānau, and external agencies to ensure students with additional learning and behavioural needs are supported to thrive.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Build teacher capability to meet diverse learning and behavioural needs.
  • Identify and coordinate support early to ensure smooth learner transitions.
  • Partner with whānau to strengthen learning support pathways.

We seek an applicant with strong relationship building skills, a clear communicator and organised. The applicant will demonstrate a commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive practice, and an understanding of Te Ao Māori and Tikanga Māori.

This role is not suitable for overseas teachers with no New Zealand teaching experience.
