Job description

ZURU is on a mission to disrupt across industries, challenge the status quo and catalyst change through radical innovation and automation advances. This is in play in different pillars of the company: ZURU Toys are re-imagining what it means to play; ZURU Tech is shaping a better future by leading the next building revolution; ZURU Edge is pioneering new generation FMCG brands to better serve modern consumers.

Founded in 2003 by EY Entrepreneur of the Year and World Entrepreneur Hall of Fame brothers Nick and Mat Mowbray, ZURU has quickly grown to a team of over 5000 direct and indirect members across more than 30 international locations.

One of the largest toy companies in the world, globally recognized and award-winning brands include Bunch O Balloons, Mini Brands, XSHOT, Rainbocorns and Smashers. Our global FMCG brands include MONDAY Haircare, Rascals, NOOD, BONKERS, Gumi Yum Surprise, and more!

Role Purpose:

ZURU has never had this role before, which makes it about as blank a canvas as it gets: coordinate and run ZURU's first structured training operation, built from scratch with the support and leadership from the International People & Culture Director. If you want a role where you can build something from zero and see your fingerprints on it, this is it.

The Training Specialist owns the coordination and administration of ZURU's training calendar: working with the International People & Culture Director, the OD Director, and subject matter experts and external speakers across the business, who design and facilitate their own sessions, to schedule, brief and support delivery. Design and facilitation for specialist content sit with the people who know it best; this role makes sure every session happens, lands well, and is housed in one central place, giving every team member the best possible learning experience.

Core Roles and Responsibilities:
Program Coordination and Administration
  • Own the end-to-end training calendar across every program, from scheduling, invites and room and tech bookings, to turning direction from the International People & Culture Director and OD Director into ready-to-run sessions, facilitating where needed so everything lands without a hitch.
  • Help source, brief and coordinate internal subject matter experts and external speakers who will design and facilitate specialist sessions, partnering with the right expert for each topic.
  • Own a single, central repository for all training materials, recordings and resources, so every team member has one place to go and the best possible learning experience. How that gets housed is open for review, and this role is well placed to recommend the best way to do it.
  • Set and manage the cadence for reviewing, refreshing and retiring content, so what's live is always current and relevant.
  • Actively look for opportunities to automate the admin load: scheduling, reminders, attendance tracking, content tagging and the manual work that eats into time better spent on people, not paperwork.
  • Use AI tools to help draft communications, summaries feedback and keep the training repository organized, so this role shifts away from heavy admin over time rather than growing into more of it as the program scales.
  • Own the telemetry - track attendance, engagement and impact across every program and feed insights back to the International People & Culture Director, internal experts and speakers to keep improving every session.
  • Keep everything in ZURU Academy as ‘the single source of truth’ — each module marked complete and leader-reviewed, not tested — with formal assessment against a rubric only where a capability is high-stakes (e.g. pitching).
  • Embed ZURU's DNA and radical candour approach into how every session is coordinated, whether it's run by an internal expert, an external speaker or the Specialist directly, so it reinforces the culture we are building.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Strong program coordination and administration experience: comfortable owning a busy, varied calendar across different stakeholders, time zones and formats.
  • Confidence chasing down internal experts, external speakers and business leaders, and holding them to a schedule without losing the relationship.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for using AI to automate admin-heavy work, always looking for a faster or smarter way to handle logistics so more time goes to people, not process.
  • Comfort with LMS or content platforms, keeping sessions recorded, tagged and easy to find, plus enough facilitation confidence to run simple, standardized sessions when needed. This isn't a design-heavy or facilitation-heavy role; that sits with subject matter experts and the International Director.
  • A practical, get-it-done mindset and genuine attention to detail.
  • Alignment with ZURU's DNA: happy to challenge the standard corporate training playbook and build something that fits how ZURU works.
  • Enjoys creating rather than maintaining, and is energized by growth and change. Builds strong relationships and credibility quickly with people leaders, internal experts and speakers at every level.
