Job summary

Connetics, based in Tawa and serving the Wellington region, is seeking a Leading Hand to support overhead line construction, maintenance and fault response work while delivering safe, high-quality outcomes for customers.

Ideal candidates will have experience in overhead line work, a current EWRB practising licence or be working towards it, and a strong understanding of safety standards and electrical regulations. Relocation support to Wellington is available.

• Good communication and organisational skills; positive attitude and willingness to progress.

Responsibilities

• Support overhead line construction, maintenance and network upgrades.
• Coordinate day-to-day work across sites and projects.
• Support fault response and emergency restoration work.
• Work safely at heights and operate associated equipment.
• Read and interpret utility plans and network requirements.
• Help the team deliver safe, efficient work to a high standard.

Job description

Based in Tawa, this role will see you supporting the construction and maintenance of overhead electrical networks across the Wellington region.

We're looking for aLeading Hand to join our team, supporting a variety of overhead construction, maintenance and fault response work while helping deliver safe, reliable and high-quality outcomes for our customers.

We're also keen to hear from experienced Line Mechanics or Live Line Mechanics who are ready to take the next step in their career and develop into a Leading Hand role.

You'll be involved in:

• Supporting the delivery of overhead line construction, maintenance and network upgrades
• Coordinating day-to-day work across sites and projects
• Supporting fault response and emergency restoration work
• Working safely at heights and operating associated equipment
• Reading and interpreting utility plans and network requirements
• Supporting the team to deliver work safely, efficiently and to a high standard

About you

You'll thrive in this role if you have:

• Experience in overhead line work across construction, maintenance or fault response
• Current EWRB practising licence (or actively working towards it)
• Strong understanding of safety standards, electrical regulations and safe work practices
• Experience with distribution networks, EWPs, live line or HV work highly regarded
• Good communication and organisational skills
• A positive attitude, reliable work ethic and willingness to take the next step in your career
