About the Role

Due to continued growth across the region, Cook Brothers Construction are on the lookout for an experienced Leading Hands to join the team in the Wanaka region.

This is a hands-on leadership role, where you will set the standard on site, working closely with Site Managers, Build Team Managers and Foreman to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and on budget.

Duties:

  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, delivering a high standard of service and communication
  • Lead and support your team on the tools to meet project goals and timelines
  • Take a proactive, solution-focused approach to identify and mitigate risks
  • Provide on-site leadership and support as directed by the Build Team or Site Manager
  • Act as the key liaison between contractors, apprentices, labourers, and site management
  • Clearly communicate and delegate tasks to ensure smooth project delivery

Skills and Experience:

  • Must have NZ/AUS recognised Carpentry qualification
  • Proven experience in commercial construction, with strong structural knowledge
  • Experience in a Leadership role within the Construction Industry is a must
  • A passion for mentoring and developing others and celebrating team succes
  • Strong communication skills, including the confidence to hold honest and constructive conversations
  • A proactive approach to Health and Safety Leadership
  • High end residential experience an advantage
  • Licence Building Practitioner preferred but not essential
