Job summary

Lyttelton Engineering is seeking a technically minded Proposals Engineer to lead major tenders and proposals across its industrial and mechanical projects. This role sits between engineering, project delivery and business development to craft practical, commercially sound solutions.

Flexibility around background is offered; engineers, proposals, tendering or pre-construction professionals are welcome. The position may be permanent full-time or a flexible part-time appointment.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical engineering, industrial projects, tendering or pre-construction.
• Ability to develop practical, well-considered technical proposals.
• Strong written communication and document production skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate major tenders, bids and proposals.
• Review client requirements and develop practical solutions.
• Produce high-quality non-price content, including methodologies and programmes.
• Coordinate pricing input from internal specialists, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Contribute to concept development, including CAD or 3D modelling where applicable.
• Engage with clients and undertake site visits to clarify technical requirements.
• Maintain visibility of upcoming opportunities and forward-work pipeline.
• Hand successful tenders over to engineering and project-delivery teams.
• Help improve proposal, estimating and ERP systems.
